    COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 30 Northwestern played its final tournament before heading to the 2013 Big Ten Championships, wrapping up the 33rd annual Lady Buckeye Invitational Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The Wildcats entered the final round in third place and held steady, finishing third in the 12-team field that included nine Big Ten squads.
    Northwestern shot a 310 on Sunday, the same score as their first 18 holes on Saturday and finished at 53-over 917. No. 27 Michigan State won the tournament at 40-over 904 while No. 14 Purdue came in second at 47-over 911. NU finished two strokes ahead of fourth-place and 36th-ranked Ohio State.
    Four Wildcats finished in the top 20, including a pair in the top 10. Freshman Suchaya Tangkamolprasert posted the first top-10 finish of her young Wildcat career, placing ninth. She had her best round of the tournament Sunday, shooting a 2-over 74 to finish at 13-over 229. Tangkamolprasert started the day in a tie for 17th and vaulted into ninth thanks to three birdies and 10 pars on the final 18 holes.
    Sophomore Hana Lee finished one stroke behind Tangkamolprasert, posting a 14-over 230 to finish 10th. Lee carded a 5-over 77 on Sunday (75-78-77).
    Freshman Elizabeth Szokol was part of the NU group of six at the Lady Buckeye and recorded the best finish of her career in a tie for 13th. Szokol has played a majority of the season as an individual and finished at 16-over 232 for her first top-20 placement. Senior Lauren Weaver was one stroke behind at 17-over 233 to tie for 18th.
    Freshman Kaitlin Park finished in a tie for 37th with a 22-over 238 while junior Devon Brown rounded out the NU competitors in 45th at 26-over 242.
    Northwestern now turns its attention to the postseason, playing at the 2013 Big Ten Championships. Competition runs from Friday, April 26-Sunday, April 28 in French Lick, Ind.
