2011 Bryan Intercollegiate Final Results

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. -- Playing in less than ideal weather conditions - light rain and temperatures that never climbed higher than 37 degrees - Northwestern moved up one spot in the 13th annual Bryan Intercollegiate and finished 13th overall in the 17-team field. The tournament featured 13 of the nation's top-50 programs, which included the 39th-ranked Wildcats.

The 37-degree weather marked the coldest day in the event's 13-year history. None of the 90 players in the elite field equaled or broke par over the 6,386-yard Champions Course at Bryan Park.

Senior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) shared or led the Wildcats in all three rounds and finished with a team-best 16-over 232 (76-77-79), good enough for 34th place. Lindenschmidt was coming off a season-best 19th-place showing at last month's Central District Invitational.

Sophomore Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz/Cactus Shadows) finished second among the Wildcats and 38th overall with an 18-over 234 (76-78-80). Weaver, who leads the `Cats in scoring average, has finished first or second among Northwestern players in every tournament this year.

Junior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) moved up one spot from Saturday and placed 46th with a 21-over 237 (77-78-82). Freshman Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) and senior Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central), placed 60th and 75th, respectively. Brown finished with a 24-over 240 (78-82-80) and R. Lederhausen carded a 29-over 245 (81-80-84).

Wake Forest, ranked 15th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, held off Tennessee to win the team title by two strokes. The Demon Deacons, who co-hosted the event with UNCG, won the tournament for a second time.

Northwestern will now take a week off before returning to action on the other side of the country at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Half Moon Bay, Calif., on Monday, April 4.
