MESA, Ariz. -- Northwestern completed play at the 2013 Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club with a sixth-place finish among the 16-team field, led by a fifth-place finish from sophomore Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson).

The 27th-ranked Wildcats carded a 54-hole total of 29-over 893 (285-303-305) after a final-round 17-over 305 to finish one stroke behind fifth-place No. 22 Notre Dame and two shots in back of fourth-place Tulsa. The only other teams to finish ahead of NU also are ranked in the most recent data, with No. 5 Oklahoma winning the team title followed by No. 34 SMU in second and No. 16 Texas Tech in third.

Lee, who matched the NU program single-round record with a 6-under 66 in Saturday's opening round, was one of three Wildcats to sign for a 4-over 76 Sunday during a tough day for scoring. Lee turned at 4-over 40 after a bogey-bogey-double stretch from Nos. 7 to 9, but played the back side in even par including a birdie at the 165-yard par-3 16th to finish fifth at 1-under 215 (66-73-76) for the tournament.

Lee's 215 total score and fifth-place finish were one stroke and one spot shy of her career-bests set with a fourth-place 214 at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships in October. She now has four top-10 finishes this season.

Junior Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) had a very steady day to match Lee's 76, carding four bogeys and 14 pars en-route to her 4-over result and a 54-hole total of 11-over 227 (74-77-76), good for 32nd place.

NU's third 76 toward its team total in the final round came from freshman Suchaya Tangkamolprasert (Bangkok, Thailand/Bromsgrove International School). Beginning on the third hole in the shotgun start, she was 3-over par before a birdie at the 393-yard par-4 10th hole. Two more bogeys against eight pars the rest of the way put her 46th in the field after 54 holes at 14-over 230 (73-81-76).

Freshman Kaitlin Park (Tustin, Calif./Beckman) had a round that mirrored Brown's. She made 13 pars and five bogeys to sign for a 5-over 77 that put her 38th overall with a 13-over 229 (77-75-77).

Senior Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) turned at 4-over 40 Sunday morning before making a birdie on No. 10 to start the back side. Three more bogeys the rest of the way left her at 6-over 78 for the final round and 12-over 228 (72-78-78) for the tournament, placing her 34th overall.

Competing as an individual, freshman Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) fired a final-round 4-over 76. She played well in the event -- just the second of her career -- to finish 24th at 9-over 225 (76-73-76).

Northwestern now is off until spring break, when it returns to action with a March 29 match against San Diego State before competing in The Farms Invitational March 31-April 2 in San Diego.
