    Lee Leads NU at Opening Round of Hurricane Invitational

    NU Result After Round One: T-5th/17teams Results

    CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Northwestern played the opening round of the 2014 Hurricane Invitational Monday at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla. Junior Hana Lee had the best round of the day for the Wildcats, carding an even 71 to tie for eighth after the first round.

    A trio of Wildcat sophomores are close behind Lee with a 2-over 73 as Kaitlin Park, Suchaya Tangkamolprasert and Elizabeth Szokol are tied for 24th. Freshman Kacie Komoto recorded a 5-over 76 during Monday’s competition to tie for 50th. Senior Devon Brown is competing as an individual for the Wildcats and scored an 80 on Monday.

    As a team, Northwestern is tied for fifth, scoring a 6-over 290 during the first 18 holes. The Wildcats are tied with East Carolina and just a stroke behind Campbell and Kennesaw State who are tied for third. The host team, Miami, leads the 17-team field at an even 284 while Iowa State is in second at 1-over 285.

    The second round of the three-day tournament begins at 7:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday with tee times off the 1st and 10th holes.
