    RIO GRANDE, P.R. – Freshman Kaitlin Park led Northwestern with her top-five finish at the 11th Annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The Tustin, Calif., had the best finish of her young Wildcat career, tying for fifth, with a 54-hole score of 2-over 218. Park had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, posting a 1-under 71, to ensure her second top-10 placement this season.
     
    Beginning on the fifth hole, Park was 3-under after the first five holes with three birdies and two pars. She had a fourth birdie on hole 17 and finished the tournament with nine birdies, which tied for third amongst the field. Park improved her score each day, shooting a 2-over 74 on Sunday, went 1-over 73 on Monday before ending the tournament at 1-under 71.
     
    Park led the six NU competitors as the Wildcats tied for 9th in the 15-team field, shooting a 909 (+45). The ’Cats were one stroke behind eighth-place Kentucky (908) and tied with SMU.
     
    Sophomore Hana Lee finished in the top-25, tying for 25th, shooting an 11-over 227. Freshman Suchaya Tangkamolprasert tied for 40th at 15-over 231.
     
    A pair of upperclassmen also competed in Puerto Rico as junior Devon Brown tied for 57th (18-over 234) while senior Lauren Weaver had her best round of the tournament on the final day and finished in a tie for 72nd (26-over 242).
     
    Freshman Elizabeth Szokol rounded out the NU contingent as she competed as an individual and tied for 66th at 21-over 237.
     
    NU will play its annual Alumni Match, Saturday, March 2, in Jupiter Fla., before heading west to its next tournament at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., March 8-9.
