    'Cats Tied For 13th After First Round of Lady Puerto Rico

    Lady Puerto Rico Results - Round One Get Acrobat Reader

    RIO GRANDE, P.R. -- Northwestern sits in a tie for 13th-place following the opening round of the 2009 Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Coco Beach Golf Course. The Wildcats shot a 29-over 317 through the first 18 holes and are tied with Oklahoma, one shot better than Big Ten opponent Indiana.

    Senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy) shot a 2-over 38 on the back nine, and is tied with freshman Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) in 29th-place with a 6-over 78, one stroke better than sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat's (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) 7-over 79. Sophomore Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) shot a 10-over 82 while freshman Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) is at 15-over 87 through the first 18 holes.

    The Wildcats and Sooners enter the second round well within striking distance of a number of teams, trailing 12th-place Texas Tech by two strokes and are three back of Iowa State, Michigan and Minnesota, who make up a three-way tie for ninth at 26-over 314. Georgia and TCU sit atop the leaderboard after the opening round with a 14-over 302, with Purdue (304), Florida State (305) and Kent State (308) rounding out the top-five.

    Second round action gets underway at 7 a.m. Central time Monday morning. Live scoring of the tournament is NOT available, but results will be posted on NUsports.com as quickly as possible.
