    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern sophomore midfielder/forward Caroline Troncelliti (Jeffersonville, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) has been recognized as the Big Ten Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday.

    It is the first such honor of her career. She was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week Sept. 4, 2012.

    Troncelliti scored four goals on five shots in Northwestern's three games last weekend. She tallied the game-winning goal in the Wildcats' 4-2 victory at No. 15 Northeastern on Sunday before notching all three of NU's goals in recording her second career hat trick in the team's 3-0 victory at UMass Lowell on Monday. The first hat trick of her career came in a 4-1 win at Stanford Aug. 29, 2012.

    Troncelliti's four goals and eight points lead the Big Ten through the opening weekend of play.

    Northwestern (2-1) opens up its home season at noon Saturday at Lakeside Field as it takes on Boston University prior to a noon Monday matchup against Miami (Ohio).
