EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern student-athletes Maddy Carpenter, Charlotte Martin, Lisa McCarthy and Nikki Parsley are among 108 individuals competing at the USA Field Hockey Women's National Championship May 23-29 in Norfolk, Va.

A total of 24 players competing will gain selection to the U.S. National Team.

The individuals invited have been broken up into six regional teams. Carpenter, McCarthy and Parsley will compete together for the U21 squad, while Martin will play for the Midwest/California team.

"This tournament represents the best players in the U.S. and it will be an amazing opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in our country," Northwestern head coach Tracey Fuchs said. "I look forward to coaching and watching our Wildcats as the compete for the USA National Championship in Norfolk. This is a great step for our program to have four players involved at this level."

Parsley is no stranger to the National program, having recently played for Team USA at the Four Nations Tournament in New Zealand as well as at the Junior Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico last fall.

Parsley and Carpenter were also members of the U21 Junior National Squad and competed at last year's USA National Championship.
