    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head field hockey coach Tracey Fuchs has announced the addition of five individuals who will join the Wildcats in the fall for the 2013 season.

    The quintet of Maura Anistranski, Juliet Beatty, Isabel Flens, Dominique Masters and Lindsay von der Luft comprise NU's recruiting class.

    "Our 2013 class is very versatile and we are excited to have them join our family at Northwestern," Fuchs said. "They have a wide variety of playing experience and we look forward to developing them to their highest level."

    Northwestern is coming off a 16-4 season in 2012 that saw them go 4-2 in conference play, good for a second-place finish in the Big Ten.

    Maura Anistranski
    5-6 • Midfield/Forward
    Forty Fort, Pa./Wyoming Valley West

    High School: Tallied a goal or assist in every game senior year, compiling 57 goals and 28 assists en route to earning first-team all-state and first-team all-conference honors ... Second-team all-state selection junior year ... Team captain ... Times-Leader first-team All-Star in 2012 and second-team in 2011 ... Scored game-winning goal in overtime vs. Wyoming Seminary as a senior ... Three-time Citizen's Voice first-team all-conference ... Helped team to conference championship all four years as well as district titles in 2011 and 2011 ... Academic All-State and All-American senior year ... Four-year member of KaPow Field Hockey Club that claimed indoor national titles in 2010 and 2012 ... Also competed in track ... National Honor Society ... Honors with Distinction Honor roll ...     Fuchs on Anistranski: "Maura is a strong and athletically gifted athlete. She has great speed with the ball and we look forward to her contributing to our forward line in the future. She is extremely dedicated and works very hard on and off the ball."

    Dublin, Ireland/Alexandra College

    High School: Represented Ireland on international Under-18 level ... Helped Alexandra College to its first All-Ireland championship in school history (dating back to 1866) ... All-Ireland Senior XI Premier champions, Senior XI Leinster Premier League winners and Senior XI Leinster Cup champs in 2012 ... In 2011, team won Junior Premier Leinster League and Junior Leinster Cup ... Team was Under-18 Leinster Cup winners and Under-18 All-Ireland runners-up in 2010 ... Also competed in soccer and tennis ... Class captain.

    Personal: Born Juliet Beatty on 4/29/95 ... Daughter of Walter and Orla Beatty ... Competed against current Wildcat Lisa McCarthy ... Member of Dublin Youth Orchestra ... Advanced alpine skier.

    Fuchs on Beaty: "Juliet is a versatile midfielder who has solid fundamentals. She is very athletic and will be a great asset to our team."

    Isabel Flens

    Hattem, Belgium/Gymnasium Celeanum

    High School: Played on regional team for three years in the eastern Netherlands, representing the top 25 players of the region ... Pre-selection to the Dutch U-18 National team ... Team finished third in the country in 2010-11 at the U-17 level ... Competed at the club level for 2wolle for four years and Hattem for eight years.

    Personal: Born Isabel Magdalena Flens on 4/1/95 ... Daughter of Michel Flens and Judith Dens.

    Fuchs on Flens: "Isabel is a quick attacker and tremendous athlete who plays at a very high level. She will be a great addition to our forward or midfield line with her solid skills and sense of the game."

    High School: Helped the team to four consecutive county championships while making five appearances at regionals ... Member of Kent County U-15 (national champions, 2008) and U-17 (national runners-up, 2009) teams ... Represented England vs. Ireland, Germany and Belgium on U-18 squad (2011-12) ... Competed in 2012 UK School Games ... Saxon Tigers England Regional team U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18 ... The King's School scholarship recipient 2008-13 ... Member of Canterbury Field Hockey Club for 13 years ... Team captain and MVP in both field hockey and netball ... House monitor.

    Personal: Born Dominique Louis Masters on 9/30/94 in Tokyo ... Daughter of Paul and Wendy Masters ... Older brother, Jack, competed in 4 Nations Rugby for England U-16 ...     Fuchs on Masters: "Dominique can play in the midfield or backfield and will help solidify our defense. She has solid skills and is a good distributor."

    High School: Started every game from freshman through senior year ... First-team all-conference selection as a junior and senior ... Team captain ... Helped Tower Hill to conference championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011 as well as state finals appearances in 2009 and 2010 ... Competed for X-Calibur Field Hockey Club for three years, helping the team to a National Field Hockey Festival Championship and two National Indoor Tournament championships ... Member of Junior Indoor National team that toured in Scotland and Germany ... Futures participant 2010-13 ... Selected to National Futures Championship in 2011 and 2012, Junior Olympics in 2011 and Futures Elite in 2011-13 ... Also competed in lacrosse and track ... Academic Scholar

    Fuchs on von der Luft: "Lindsay is a quick, agile goalkeeper who excels both in the indoor and outdoor game. She has good footwork and solid skills. She also has experience at the international level while traveling with the U.S. indoor team."
