    EVANSTON, Ill.-- On Northwestern's first road trip of the season, the Wildcats fell 3-1 to Maine on Saturday in Orono.

    Less than five minutes into the contest, the Black Bears (1-4) put the first score of the game on the board as Marie Dineen beat out several Wildcat (3-2) defenders for the strike.

    The Black Bears then added a second goal with a shot that was tipped into the cage and its third and final goal just before halftime for the 3-0 lead.

    In the second half, junior Alex Quinn (Watertown, Mass.,/Watertown) tried to spark a `Cats comeback with a goal in the 60th minute of the game, but it would be all the offense NU could muster.

    NU took 12 penalty corners in the game to Maine's seven and outshot the Black Bears 10-6 in the second half. NU will host Kent State on Friday at Lakeside Field.
