    First Season

Shahid Khadry is in his first year year as the volunteer assistant coach of the Northwestern field hockey program. Khadry comes to NU with experiences dating back to his playing days in 1997 in India. Since then, he has coached the Under-14 District team in Cuddapah, India, coached the Chicago Field Hockey Club since 2004 and with the Windy City Winter Club for a year.

"We are thrilled to have Shahid joining our staff this fall," said coach Kelly McCollum. "We expect him to make a significant impact on our team's scoring and finishing skills. He is a talented attack player with a wealth of international experience, and will add so much to our program."

Khadry is still actively playing the sport as well, as he was a member of the men's national championship winning team in May, as well as participating in the Chicago Field Hockey Club from January-March. Khadry was also a part of championship winning teams in 2006 in the Atlanta Cup, the Chicago Cup and the U.S. Club Cup Men's Championship.

"Shahid is eager to develop his coaching skills and learn about all aspects of a Division I program," said McCollum. "We are fortunate to have him volunteering a significant amount of time to helping us develop our program."
