EVANSTON, Ill. -- Legendary Northwestern fencing head coach Laurie Schiller unveiled the recruiting class of 2012 Thursday. The group features 10 student-athletes from four different states with experience in all three weapons.

"This is a great group of freshmen that will be joining the program," said Schiller. "We graduated a big senior core from our foil team and these new ladies are going to come in and help the returning sophomores fill that void.

"We have all of our strength in epée returning, but the four newcomers are going to challenge our starters from last year and it will make us even better than we have been," said Schiller.
