EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern epéeist Courtney Dumas has been named a CollegeFencing360.com Primetime Performer of the Week for the period of Jan. 21-27, the web site announced Wednesday. The sophomore collected 25 individual victories as she helped the Wildcats win nine matches at the Philadelphia and NYU invitational meets over the weekend.
Dumas' 25 victories were the most by any NU fencer over the weekend. The Cleveland, Ohio, native opened the weekend by posting a 14-2 record on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Philadelphia Invitational. She was one of three Wildcats to collect 14 wins on the day joining fellow epée fencer Dina Bazarbayeva and sabre fencer Chloe Grainger. Northwestern won all six of its matches in the City of Brotherly love, including triumphs over No. 9 Temple and No. 10 Penn.
In New York City on Sunday, Dumas racked up a team-high 11 wins at the NYU Invitational. Northwestern split its six matches in Manhattan with its victories coming over Yale, Wayne State and the hosts from NYU.
Dumas leads NU's epée squad with 46 wins this season. In this, her second season, she already has 156 victories on the strips for the 'Cats.

Northwestern returns home this weekend to host the second installment of the NU Duals at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion, Feb. 2-3. The seventh-ranked Wildcats will face three teams listed in the CollegeFencing360.com Coaches poll this weekend including No. 1 Princeton, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 9 Temple.
