    2010 Northwestern Duals Bout Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fresh off his milestone 1,000th victory, Northwestern head coach Laurie Schiller and his fifth-ranked Wildcats welcome some of the top fencing programs in the country to Evanston for the 2010 Northwestern Duals. The two-day event will be held at the Sports and Aquatic Center (SPAC) on the Northwestern campus with action getting underway at 8 a.m. both days.

15 teams will compete in this year's NU Duals, including five ranked among the USFCA top-10 poll. The Wildcats, who are 14-2 in dual meets on the season, open up the tournament facing Johns Hopkins before a historic meeting with North Carolina which will pit Schiller against Tar Heel head coach Ron Miller in the first meeting of the sport's 1,000-victory coaches.

Northwestern then faces a pair of ranked opponents, squaring off against seventh-ranked Temple and ninth-ranked Princeton before closing out the first day of competition against conference opponents Wayne State, Cleveland State and Detroit.

Sunday the Wildcats open up with Stanford and UC San Diego before matches against Duke and sixth-ranked Ohio State as NU looks to avenge a 16-11 loss to the Buckeyes at last weekend's NYU Duals. Cal Tech and Fairleigh Dickinson are the final opponents for the 'Cats as they look to build on last season's 7-4 performance at the Duals.

Saturday will also mark Senior Day for the eight Northwestern seniors on this year's roster. Meredith Baskies, Christa French, Kayley French, Sarah Henning, Allie Keller, Joanna Niklinska, Ameesha Sampat and Whitney White will be honored prior to the beginning of competition Saturday morning.
