NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Northwestern posted a 3-3 record at the NYU Invitational at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center in Manhattan Sunday. The sixth-ranked Wildcats mirrored their result from last year's tournament and are now 18-3 on the year.

Head coach Laurie Schiller's squad dropped the opening match of the tournament, falling to fourth-ranked Columbia 16-11, but rallied back to take an 18-9 decision over Yale in round two. The Wildcats then got their first look at a pair of nationally-ranked conference foes in Notre Dame and Ohio State, falling to the second-ranked Irish 18-9 before dropping a tightly-fought 15-12 dual to the third-ranked Buckeyes. NU would rally back in the final two matches of the afternoon, blowing past Wayne State 26-1 before capping the invitational with a 19-8 victory over host NYU.

The Wildcats now return home to host the second installment of the NU Duals at the Sports and Aquatic Center (SPAC) Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday, Feb. 1. Matches get underway both days at 8:00 a.m.
