    EVANSTON, Ill. – Sunday is the first chance to catch the 2012-13 Northwestern women’s basketball team in action as the Wildcats are set to host their lone exhibition game before officially opening the regular season on Nov. 9. NU welcomes St. Francis to Welsh-Ryan Arena for a 2 p.m. game and admission is FREE for fans.
     
    Head coach Joe McKeown begins his fifth season at the helm and his 2012-13 squad includes eight letterwinners from 2011-12 along with five newcomers. Three starters return, including senior All-Big Ten honorees Dannielle Diamant and Kendall Hackney along with sophomore guard Karly Roser who played and started 29 of 30 games during her freshman campaign.
     
    The Wildcats welcome 6-2 forward Devon Brookshire (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Bishop Montgomery), 6-2 forward Lauren Douglas (Collierville, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian), 6-3 forward Christen Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga./The Lovett School), 5-6 guard Nof Kedem (Olesh, Israel/Ostrovski) and 6-1 forward Maggie Lyon (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) to the squad as this year’s freshman class.
     
    Additionally, McKeown has some new faces joining him on the sideline as assistant coaches Sam Dixon and Allison Guth joined the Wildcat coaching staff over the summer.
     
    Northwestern officially opens the 2012-13 regular season at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. against the Skyhawks of the University of Tennessee at Martin. It is the first of five consecutive home games as the ’Cats play a 16 games at Welsh-Ryan Arena this year. To view NU's complete schedule, please click here.

Also on sale is a season-ticket family plan for $99 which admits two adults and three children. Additionally, season courtside seating is available for $99.
