Future Wildcat Amy Jaeschke will lead the 2007 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Championship team against 15 other teams from across the globe.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Future Wildcat Amy Jaeschke (New Trier, Ill./Wilmette) was named to the 2007 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Championship Team, it was announced today by USA Basketball. Jaeschke, also a finalist for the U21 squad, will depart for Europe on July 17 to take part in the Championship, which take place from July 26-Aug. 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia.

"We are so thrilled for Amy," head coach Beth Combs said. "She has worked extremely hard to become a part of USA Basketball and no one deserves this opportunity more than she does."

The 2007 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Championship Team, composed of players 19-years-old or younger (born on or after Jan. 1, 1988), will continue training in Washington, D.C., before departing on July 17 for the Canary Islands, Spain, where it will play three exhibition contests. On July 19 the USA U19 women will play Australia at noon; the team will face Brazil at noon on July 20; and then Spain at noon on July 21 (all times CT).
