    Divjak to Play on Big Ten Women's Basketball All-Star Team

    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern forward Kristina Divjak (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) is one of 12 players chosen to represent the Big Ten Conference on its 1998 women's basketball foreign tour. The team will spend the next week in Europe, facing national and club teams from Sweden and Denmark. Minnesota head coach Cheryl Littlejohn will serve as head coach for the All-Star squad.

    Last year as a junior, Divjak led the Big Ten and ranked 13th nationally in scoring at 22.1 points per contest. She was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection and was named honorable mention Kodak All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

    The other members of the foreign tour team are Alicia Sheeler (Illinois); Cindy Kerns (Indiana); Cara Consuegra (Iowa); Becky Cummings (Michigan State); Sonja Robinson and Mindy Hansen (Minnesota); Christine Portland and Maren Walseth (Penn State); Camille Cooper (Purdue); and Kelly Paulus and Dee Dee Pate (Wisconsin).

    The tour schedule is as follows: June 20 vs. Copenhagen All-Stars in Denmark, June 21 and 22 vs. Denmark National Team in Denmark, June 24 vs. Varberg Basketball Club in Sweden and June 26 vs. Falcon Basketball Club in Denmark
