ACC-BigTenChallenge2012
PARK RIDGE, Ill.-- Northwestern travels to Chestnut Hill for the sixth-annual ACC/Big Ten Women's Basketball Challenge, the conference office announced today (May 22). The event will take place over two days, Nov. 28-29, with the Wildcats battling Boston College on the first day. Additionally, the two conferences also announced an extension on the ACC-Big Ten Challenge until 2016.
The series between the two teams is notched at 2-2, with the last meeting favoring the Wildcats in the 2007 Mildred and Roger L. White Invitational in Evanston. NU earned its first victory in the event with a 76-59 triumph over NC State at home last season.
The ACC and Big Ten conference offices determine the schedule each season. In addition, the official title of the Challenge will rotate each year. The 2012 event will be referred to as the ACC/Big Ten Women's Basketball Challenge and will continue to mirror the official title of the two conferences' Challenge agreement for men's basketball. Game times, as well as television and broadband coverage, will be announced at a later date. The complete 2012 ACC/Big Ten Challenge schedule can be found below.
