EVANSTON, Ill. -- Future Wildcat Amy Jaeschke (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) was named a finalist for both the 2007 U21 and U19 World Championship Teams following an outstanding performance at the National Team Trials this past weekend.
Jaeschke, the lone high school athlete to make the U21 cut from 45 candidates to 14, will return to Colorado Springs on June 12 to begin training for the tournament. Over the course of the four-day training, the roster will be whittled down to the 12-person team. The team will then depart for Moscow, Russia on June 16 to participate in the FIBA World Championship, which will be held June 29-July 8.
Should Jaeschke earn a spot on the U19 team, she would compete in Bratislava, Slovakia from July 26-Aug. 5.
