EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern embarks on the final stretch of the regular season Thursday when it hosts Iowa at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on BTDN and can be accessed through Wildcats All-Access. NU needs to win one out of its final two games of the season to earn its third-straight winning season; a feat that has not been accomplished since the 1994-1997 campaigns.

    Up Next...
The Wildcats remain at home for their final game of the regular season against Michigan State Sunday at 2 p.m. It's also Senior Day and NU will recognize captains Brittany Orban and Allison Mocchi as well as Tailor Jones.

    Last Time Out...
Northwestern turned in a strong second-half performance but could not erase a 14-point first-half deficit, falling at Illinois, 69-57, Monday evening at Assembly Hall. Dannielle Diamant, Morgan Jones and Kendall Hackney all finished in double figures for the Wildcats.

    Opponent Profile
    Iowa Hawkeyes
    2011-12 Record: 17-10, 9-5
    Series History: Iowa leads, 45-13
Last Meeting: Dec. 31, 2011 in Iowa City, Iowa 86, Northwestern 55
Of Note: The Hawkeyes are in the middle of a logjam in the Conference race, as one of four teams with a 9-5 record entering the final week of the regular season. Iowa suffered a huge loss when junior Jaime Printy tore her ACL earlier this month. Printy was the Hawks' leading scorer and preseason All-Big Ten selection.

    Trending...
When you talk about the Wildcats this season, freshmen Morgan Jones and Karly Roser will undoubtedly be at the forefront of conversation. The two freshmen have started every game for Northwestern this season, following in the footsteps of another familiar duo, Kendall Hackney and Dannielle Diamant, who also saw significant floor time during their first year in Evanston. Jones and Roser not only contribute in the points column, but also in the assists category. When the two combine to dish out 12 or more assists, the 'Cats are undefeated (5-0). Another fun fact--when Diamant scores 10 or more points, the Wildcats are 13-5.

February Has Been Good To the 'Cats
If the old adage that history repeats itself proves true, you can expect at least a few more wins from the Wildcats over the next few weeks. NU has won three games in the month of February in the past two seasons, hinting that a pair of wins may just be around the corner as Northwestern's W over Nebraska was the first win of the month.

    No Easy Path
The Big Ten continues to have four teams ranked in the Associated Press (AP) poll, tied with the ACC for the second-most top 25 teams. Ohio State moves to No. 8 this week, its highest spot in the polls since Jan. 3, while Penn State is up to No. 11 for the second time this season, having also checked in at No. 11 on Nov. 15. Purdue and Nebraska also appear in the top 25, with the Boilermakers at No. 22 and the Huskers at No. 23. In the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, Ohio State appears at No. 14, followed immediately by Penn State at No. 15. Nebraska is ranked 23rd, while Purdue is the first team outside the top 25 receiving votes.

Joe McKeown Inducted Into George Washington Hall of Fame
After guiding his team to an upset of No. 16 Nebraska Thursday, head coach Joe McKeown headed back to Washington, DC for his induction into the George Washington Hall of Fame this past weekend. A record five-time winner of the Atlantic 10's Coach of the Year Award (1991, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2007) and two-time National Coach of the Year nominee (1995, 1997), McKeown is George Washington's all-time winningest coach in terms of wins (441) and winning percentage (.741), as his teams averaged over 23 wins in his 19 seasons from 1989 to 2008.
