    Northwestern Women's Basketball Falls to Iowa, 79-72

    EVANSTON, Ill.- The Northwestern women's basketball team dropped a close game Sunday afternoon to the Iowa Hawkeyes, 79-72. Megan Chawansky led the Wildcats with 24 points, shooting 7-for-16 from the field. Despite being down by 10 points at the half, NU cut the Iowa lead to 65-63 with 3:11 remaining. The Hawkeyes pulled away in the final minutes for a 79-72 margin.

    Kristina Divjak scored 19 points for the Wildcats, and Amber DeWall just missed a triple-double with nine points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists. Iowa's Tangela Smith had 31 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes.

    Northwestern returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 10, to battle cross-town foe DePaul. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
