    Women's Basketball Falls 88-63 at Indiana

    Kristina Divjak leads NU with 17 points

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Northwestern women's basketball team dropped to 4-9 overall, 0-2 Big Ten, with an 88-63 loss at Indiana on Sunday night. IU improves to 10-4 overall, 3-0 Big Ten. The game was close early, with the Hoosiers holding a slim 23-21 lead with 9:49 left in the first half. A 9-0 IU run over the next 2:45 increased the lead to 11 points at 32-21. The lead would reach as much as 17 points before four points by Kristina Divjak closed the gap to 44-30 at intermission. The Hoosiers opened the second half on a 14-1 run over the first 3:17 to put the game out of reach. The Wildcats made a small run midway through the second half, going a 9-0 run of their own, but Indiana earned the victory.

    Divjak led NU in scoring with 17 points, while Megan Chawansky was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 13 points and a team-high five rebounds. Divjak also added two assists, two steals and three blocks in the loss. Freshman forward Chala Holland scored two points and grabbed three rebounds in 10 minutes against the Hoosiers, in addition to playing excellent post defense against IU All-Big Ten center Quacy Barnes. IU's Summar Maines led all scorers with 23 points for the game. The Wildcats travel to Chicagoland-rival Loyola-Chicago for a 7 p.m. Wednesday night game. The 'Cats then hit the road for Big Ten contests at Iowa on Friday night and Ohio State on Sunday afternoon.
