    Northwestern Women's Hoops Falls in Exhibition Opener

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Wildcat women's basketball team lost in a down-to-the-wire battle tonight with Kosarlabda Sport Club of Skekszard, Hungary, 65-61. Kosarlabda was led by Judit Veres' 28 points and six assists. The Hungarian team was able to overcome 20 turnovers and a 44-39 rebounding deficit, holding the Wildcats to just 32 percent shooting from the field and 15 percent from three point range.

    Northwestern was led by Megan Chawansky's 19 points. Kristina Divjak contributed 16 points and seven boards. Amber DeWall finished with seven assists and six rebounds.

    The Wildcats open the regular season next Fri., Nov. 14, in the Preseason NIT. Northwestern will host Southern Illinois at 7:30 p.m. in Welsh-Ryan Arena, with the winner advancing to Sunday's second round.
