    Divjak Receives GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

    Talented junior named to women's hoops first team

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior forward Kristina Divjak (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) has been named to the GTE Academic All-District team, voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The communicative sciences and pre-medicine major has a 3.21 grade point average.

    Divjak was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection this season. She currently leads the Big Ten and ranks 16th nationally in scoring at 21.6 points per game. Divjak is the only player in the Big Ten to rank among the NCAAs top 25 players in three statistical categories: scoring (16th), three pointers made per game (16th) and free throw percentage (23rd). She enters the Big Ten Tournament having scored in double figures 52-straight games.

    Other members of the Academic All-District team were Stephanie White (Purdue), Kristi Green (Indiana), Chari Nordgaard (UW-Green Bay) and Nicki Taggart (Marquette). They are now placed on the national ballot for GTE Academic All-American, which will be announced on March 19.
