    EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head coach Drew Pariano announced today the signing of current high school seniors Bryce Brill (Mt. Carmel, Ill.), Sammy Gross (Beachwood, Ohio), Stevan Micic (Hanover Central, Ind.) and Johnny Sebastian (Bergen Catholic, N.J.), and to National Letters of Intent to wrestle for NU beginning in 2014.

    The class features three wrestlers ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes by Amateur Wrestling News and 3 ranked in the Top 25 Overall by InterMat Wrestle.

    "Signing a class of this caliber will solidify our line-up and lead us to our ultimate goal of winning NCAA titles,” Pariano said.

    Bryce Brill
    Hometown: Mt. Carmel, Ill.
    Projected College Weight: 157

    Ranked No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 152 lbs. by Amateur Wrestling News…Ranked No. 3 Overall by InterMat Wrestle in the Class of 2014… 2012 USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle National Champion at 145…Two-time Illinois H.S. State Champion…Three-time state finalist in Illinois… FILA Cadet Freestyle National finalist…State champion as a freshman in Illinois’ Class AA at Marmion Academy… Brill wrestles for former Northwestern Assistant Coach and NCAA Champion, Coach John Kading at Mt. Carmel High School…Chose Northwestern over University of Michigan, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa. 

    Sammy Gross
    Hometown: Beachwood, Ohio
    Projected College Weight: 133 

    Compiled a 137-12 high school record…High school team MVP in 2012…All-CVC Conference in 2012, 2013…All-Sun Newspaper Selection in 2013…Finished third place in state finals in 2011 at 112 lbs…2012 state champion at 113 lbs…member of the USA Maccabiah Team in 2013, earning a gold medal at the World Maccabiah Games in 2013, played in Israel…Was a teammate of current NU Wrestler, Jacob Berkowitz at the Maccabiah Games…Played three years of baseball as a catcher/outfielder in high school. Chose Northwestern over Duke, Franklin & Marshall, and Bucknell.

    Stevan Micic
    Hometown: Hanover Central, Ind.
    Projected College Weight: 125 

    Ranked No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 120 lbs. by Amateur Wrestling News…Ranked No. 23 Overall by InterMat Wrestle in the Class of 2014…Represented the United States at the Cadet World Championships this past August at 54 kg…Two-time state champion…Undefeated 95-0 over the last two high school season…Has posted a career record of 138-5, finishing third in the state as a freshman at 103 lbs. before winning state the last two years at 106 lbs. and 113 lbs.…Placed in each of his three years as a FILA Cadet at the National Championships…Finished the 2012-13 season ranked No. 1 in the nation at 113 pounds…Chose Northwestern over Oklahoma State, Ohio State, and Illinois.

    Johnny Sebastian

    High School: Ranked No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 182 lbs. by Amateur Wrestling News…Two-time state champion from New Jersey…Ranked No. 14 Overall in the senior class by InterMat Wrestle…Won the FLO Wrestling battle of who is #1 over the #2 ranked wrestler in the nation this past November…Enters his senior season with an overall record of 110-16, which includes an 81-3 mark over the last two state championship campaigns…Finished fifth at 152 lbs. as a freshman before winning titles at 160 lbs. and 182 lbs. last two seasons…Chose Northwestern over University of Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Princeton, and Michigan.
