Wrestling Banquet Registration Form
Wrestling Golf Outing Brochure
EVANSTON, Ill. -- In the midst of an exciting time for the Northwestern wrestling program, the Wildcats invite all fans and friends of the program to join them for their annual year-end banquet and golf outing. For the first time, these events will be held on back-to-back days with the banquet taking place at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, followed by the golf outing on Monday, May 24.
Downloadable registration forms for each event are available in PDF format at the top of the page.
The 2010 banquet will be hosted by Pinstripes located at 1150 Willow Road in Northbrook, Ill., while the golf outing will once again be held at the Chevy Chase Country Club on N. Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling, Ill. The cost for attending the banquet is $32 per person and payment must be received by May 17 in order to reserve your seat.
The following day, head out to the Chevy Chase Country Club for an 11 a.m. shotgun start to compete in a friendly golf outing featuring contests for lowest score, closest to the pin, longest drive and a car giveaway for a hole-in-one. The club will also host a dinner with Wildcat wrestling prizes following the round.
Highlights of the banquet lunch at Pinstripes include celebrating a long list of achievements from the 2010 season, notably:
The 2009-10 season was Tim Cysewski's final year as head coach after 20 years at the helm of Wildcat wrestling. Still as passionate about coaching as he was when he arrived on staff 28 years ago, Cysewski will remain with the program as associate head coach alongside Drew Pariano when Pariano takes over the reins next season.
Junior Andrew Nadhir earned his first national ranking with a 21-10 record and qualified for his first trip to the NCAA Championships at 149 pounds. Nadhir placed at the Big Ten Championships for the second consecutive season.
In his fourth year as a starter at 133 pounds, senior Eric Metzler won 14 matches to raise his career win total to 46 and placed at the Big Ten Championships for the first time in his career.
Junior 184-pounder Aaron Jones also was a place-winner at the Big Ten Championships.
This season provided a valuable year of starting experience for true freshmen Levi Mele, Kevin Bialka and Marcus Shrewsbury as well as redshirt freshman Brian Roddy, Jr., who took eighth at Big Tens.
This was the final year in the Wildcat careers of seniors Eric Metzler, Kyle Bertin and Keith Sulzer.
