The USA Today comments on Brill, Micic and Sebastian:
Stevan Micic (126 lbs.)
Bryce Brill (152 lbs.)
“A multiple-time All-American in freestyle and Greco-Roman, Micic capped his high school career with a third high school state championship in one-class Indiana. Micic finished 42-0.”
“Along with Stevan Micic and 182-pound first-teamer Johnny Sebastian, Brill is one of three first-teamers who have signed with Northwestern. Brill is a three-time AAA state champion and is also a USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle National Champion. Did not give up a single offensive point all season.”
Johnny Sebastian (182 lbs.)
“Sebastian took one loss this season, finishing 34-1 and ending his career as a three-time state champion in one-class New Jersey. He won the Beast of the East in December of 2013 and claimed the FloNationals title after his junior season.”
Brill, Micic and Sebastian all captured titles this season at their respective weight classes to cap off their high school careers. Each is ranked No. 1 nationally in his weight class this year and all three became three-time state champions this season.
The three incoming recruits will join the Wildcats for the 2014-15 season. This year, Northwestern placed five automatic qualifiers in the NCAA Championships and finished No. 9 in the nation, featuring NCAA and Big Ten Champion Jason Tsirtsis (149 lbs.), who was also named the Intermat and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Mike McMullan (285 lbs.) was also named All-American for the third time in his career while Pierce Harger (165 lbs.) joined him as a first time All-American.
