    EVANSTON, Ill. -- With a stellar 2006-07 season in the books, Northwestern's wrestling team will hold its annual wrestling banquet at 1 p.m., Saturday April 28 at Maggiano's at Old Orchard. The Wildcats invite you to join in the festivities and help recognize and celebrate a great season of Northwestern wrestling. The event is open to the public and reservations can be made using the above link. The cost is $30 per person.

    Dinner will be served during the banquet while wrestlers, coaches and friends of the program will take time to highlight some of this year's achievements, including:

    Jake Herbert became NU's first NCAA champion since 1990 -- winning the 184-pound crown at this year's NCAA Championships.
    • NU finished fourth at the NCAA Championships -- joining the 1932 and 1990 squads with the highest finish in program history.
    • Northwestern boasted four All-American wrestlers -- Jake Herbert, Ryan Lang, Dustin Fox and Mike Tamillow.
    • Three Wildcats won Big Ten Champions for the first time since 1931 and multiple champions for the first time since 1990. Herbert, Lang and Tamillow all won conference titles.
    • NU enjoyed Four 30-match winners in true freshman Brandon Precin, Jake Herbert, Mike Tamillow and Dustin Fox.
    • Northwestern finished third at the Midlands Championships and had multiple Midlands champions for the first time since 1964.
    Tim Cysewski became the winningest coach in program history.

    Maggiano's at Old Orchard is located at 175 Old Orchard Center, in Skokie, Ill.
