PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Three incoming members of the Northwestern wrestling class have been selected to represent the USA All-Star Team at the 40th Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic. Bryce Brill (Mt. Carmel, Ill.), Stevan Micic (Hanover Central, Ind.) and Johnny Sebastian (Bergen Catholic, N.J,), all signed to National Letters of Intent in November by Northwestern head coach Drew Pariano, were chosen for the prestigious high school all-star meet.
With three future Wildcats wrestlers on Team USA, Northwestern leads the tournament with the most incoming recruits of any collegiate program. Penn State and Stanford follow NU with two apiece.
Brill (Illinois), Micic (Indiana) and Sebastian (New Jersey) are all two-time high school state champions. Brill (152 lbs.) and Sebastian (182 lbs.) are each ranked No. 1 nationally in their respective weight classes by Flowrestling. Brill and Micic (No. 2 at 126 lbs.) have each gone 136-5 in their high school careers, while Sebastian has posted a 110-16 record.
The trio will compete at the 40th Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic on Sunday, March 16 at the Fitzgerald Field House on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
The Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic features the nation's best seniors on Team USA as they take on the state of Pennsylvania's top high school seniors. The tournament begins with Oklahoma's All-Star Team taking on Western Pennsylvania's All-Star Team at 4:00 p.m. ET before Pennsylvania and the USA All-Star Team square off at 6:00 p.m. ET on March 16.
