PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Four Wildcats won their weight classes Sunday afternoon at the 2012 Keystone Classic as Northwestern took home the tournament title for the second consecutive season. In total, 10 NU wrestlers placed, helping the Wildcats score 156.0 team points to run away with the team title. Runner-up Penn tallied 102.5 while third-place Rider had 91.0 points.

Freshman Dominick Malone (125), senior Jason Welch (157) and sophomores Pierce Harger (165) and Lee Munster (174) each took home titles at their respective weight classes. Welch, Harger and Munster all received No. 1 seeds while Malone entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed.

Malone, who wrestled in his first collegiate event in the season-opener last weekend at Stanford, was impressive in his tournament debut, winning four matches, including two by fall, to take the title at 125. He pinned No. 3 seed Dominic Parisi of Appalachian State and followed that up with an 8-3 decision over No. 2 seed Jeff Ott of Harvard. The Granby, Conn., native then captured the title with a 6-4 win in sudden victory over No. 1 seed Mark Rappo of Penn.

Welch and Harger each won five matches to win their weight class while Munster needed four bouts for the 174 lbs. title. All three remain undefeated on the season as Welch and Harger are 6-0 and Munster is now 5-0.

Three other Wildcats finished second including Levi Mele (133), Jameson Oster (141) and Mike McMullan (285). Oster made it to the championship match at 141 as the No. 7 seed.
