    John Kading enters his second year as an assistant wrestling coach for the Wildcats after spending the 1997-98 as the team's strength coach. Kading came to Northwestern from the University of Oklahoma, where he wrestled collegiately from 1993-97. As a three-year captain and two-time team MVP, he captured the 1996 NCAA Championship at 190 pounds. Kading also won the Big Eight Championships and was a four-time All-American. He was a junior national freestyle champion in high school.

    Kading, who graduated from Oklahoma in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in sociology, resides in Glen Ellyn, Ill.
