    Two-time All-American Jack Griffin begins his sixth season as Wildcat assistant wrestling coach. Griffin held the position from 1993-95 before taking a one-year hiatus from coaching.

    Griffin won the 1990 NCAA Championship at 118 pounds, while the Wildcats placed fourth in the team competition. He finished his career as NU's all-time winningest wrestler, and captured Big Ten titles in 1989 and '90. Griffin served as NU's team captain his final two seasons and was an alternate on the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team at 114.5 pounds. This year, Griffin also served as an assistant coach for the women's junior world team.

    Prior to coaching at Northwestern, Griffin was an assistant coach at Illinois and Iowa.

    Griffin graduated from Northwestern in 1990 with a B.A. in human development and social policy. He and his wife, Monica, reside in Skokie, Ill.
