EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern has announced its men's tennis schedule for the upcoming 2013-14 season with the Wildcats opening up their dual match season Jan. 17 at Boise State.

NU is slated to play 16 home matches beginning with a pair of matches on Jan. 19 against William and Mary as well as Chicago State.

The 'Cats will travel to Norman, Okla., for the qualifying rounds of the ITA National Indoor Championship on Jan. 25-26. Following a match at Vanderbilt, Northwestern returns home for a stretch of four matches over a five-day span as it welcomes Rice, Cornell, Western Illinois and Notre Dame to Combe Tennis Center.

Road matches at Middle Tennessee State and Harvard precede a Feb. 23 doubleheader against NC State and Valparaiso before the 'Cats head to Louisville Feb. 28 for one last match prior to the start of Big Ten play.

NU opens its conference slate at home March 2 as it takes on Illinois. Following a match at Purdue, another twinbill is on tap for March 9 as the Wildcats host Indiana and UIC.

Following an 18-day break from competition, Northwestern returns to action at Ohio State and Penn State prior to hosting Michigan March 4 as well as Michigan State and IUPUI two days later.

Matches at Nebraska and Iowa follow the next weekend before the Wildcats wrap up their regular season by hosting Wisconsin and Minnesota April 18 and 20, respectively.

Michigan State will serve as the host of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament April 24-27 in East Lansing, Mich.

Northwestern's fall slate consists of the ITA Regional Championships Oct. 17-21 in Columbus, Ohio, as well as the Big Ten Singles Championships Oct. 25-28 in West Lafayette, Ind.

Head coach Arvid Swan's team posted a 22-10 record in 2013, finishing just one win shy of the school single-season record.
