    EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's men's tennis team earned an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Tournament and will take on Wake Forest May 10 in a first-round matchup in Athens, Ga.

    The Wildcats bring a 21-9 record into the NCAA tournament after finishing tied for fifth place in the Big Ten. NU was No. 37 in last week's ITA team rankings. Northwestern defeated Iowa 6-1 in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament before falling 4-2 to Illinois in the quarterfinals.

    Wake Forest is 20-8 and went 7-3 in ACC play this season. The Demon Deacons fell 4-1 to second-ranked Virginia in the championship match of the ACC tournament. Wake Forest was ranked No. 24 in last week's ITA team rankings.

    In the other first-round match, host Georgia -- the tournament's No. 3 seed -- will take on Binghamton. The winners of the two matches square of May 11 for a right to advance to the round of 16 on May 17 in Urbana, Ill.
