EVANSTON, Ill. -- The ‘Cats make their second trip to Tennessee this season, this time to face No. 56 Middle Tennessee State on Sunday at 10 a.m. No. 30 Northwestern is 7-3 on the season and 3-3 against ranked opponents.

As of this past Tuesday, NU now features two ranked singles players. Freshman Sam Shropshire climbed from No. 114 to No. 81, and senior Raleigh Smith’s has entered the ranks at No. 111.

Middle Tennessee is a familiar non-conference opponent for the ‘Cats, and this will be the sixth straight year the two teams have met. A year ago, Northwestern and MT played in Evanston, where the Wildcats claimed a 4-3 victory.

The Blue Raiders are 1-5 this season with a win against Chattanooga. Sophomore David Fox is ranked No. 84 in singles, and makes up half of the No. 57 doubles team with fellow classmate Victor Cornea.
