EVANSTON, Ill. -- After a busy weekend in Evanston, the Wildcats host another home match on Tuesday to take on No. 16 Notre Dame at 5 p.m. The `Cats are on a three-match winning streak and have yet to give up a point at the Combe Tennis Center in 2014.

Notre Dame is the sixth ranked team Northwestern will face this season, and the second in the top 20. The two Midwest teams have met annually for the past several years, the last of which was an exciting 2013 contest in which the `Cats bested the Irish 4-3 in South Bend.

Notre Dame's Greg Andrews is ranked No. 22 and Quentin Monaghan is No. 90. Andrews and Alex Lawson come in at No. 21 in doubles rankings. The Irish are 6-1 on the season and have notably posted two upset victories over then top-15 Kentucky - the first at the ITA Indoor Qualifying Rounds and the second at home. They took their first loss against No. 22 Illinois this past weekend in Champaign.

The Wildcats faced a couple Notre Dame players in the ITA Regional Championships in October. Both Fedor Baev and Konrad Zieba fell in tough singles contests to Andrews, and Andrews and Lawson knocked out NU's Strong Kirchheimer and Alberto Zanotti in the third round of doubles competition.

Northwestern is 7-2 on the season and 5-0 in Evanston. Tuesday's match marks the fourth consecutive home contest since Friday.
