EVANSTON, Ill. -
Northwestern head men's tennis coach Arvid Swan has announced the signing of a stellar four-member class for the 2013-14 season. Alp Horoz, Strong Kirchheimer, Sam Shropshire and Konrad Zieba will all matriculate to Evanston in the fall of 2013.
"I am extremely excited to welcome Alp, Strong, Sam and Konrad to the Northwestern Tennis program," Swan said. "I expect this class to make an immediate and significant impact on the program in both singles and doubles."
Northwestern posted a 15-11 overall mark, including a 7-4 Big Ten record, last season while advancing to the NCAA tournament. NU's recently concluded fall season included both the singles (Raleigh Smith) and doubles champions (Smith and Sidarth Balaji) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
The Wildcats open this year's duel meet season on Sunday, Jan. 13 when they host Ball State and Western Michigan at the Combe Tennis Center.
