    Wildcat Tennis Finds Success at Rolex Intercollegiate Indoor Championships

    Nasser-Guignon doubles team eliminated, Witt and Nasser alive in consolation singles brackets

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The women's doubles team of Katherine Nasser and Laura Guignon was eliminated Thursday night from the 1998 Rolex National Indoor Championships in Dallas. The pair dropped its first-round match to Duke's Karen Goldstein and Vanessa Webb, 6-2, 6-1. Nasser and Guignon lost in the consolation draw to Texas' Laura Berendt and Cristina Moros, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.

    Nasser and men's tennis player Alex Witt remain alive in the singles consolation draw of the tournament. Nasser, who lost to second-seeded Agnes Muzamel of Mississippi in three sets, will face the tournament's fourth-seed in Texas' Sandy Sureephong in the back draw. Witt, who fell to Harvard's Thomas Blake in three sets on Thursday, will face Tulsa's Gareth Williams in the back draw, with the winner advancing to face the tournament's top seed Bob Bryan of Stanford.
