    Northwestern Tennis Defeats Northern Illinois

    EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's tennis team swept all seven matches en route to a victory over Northern Illinois University.

    Doug Bohaboy fought through a tough three-setter in defeating Northern Illinois' big serving Mattias Arfeldt 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4 at the number 2 singles spot. At number 6 singles, Auston Brunkhorst was able to overcome dropping the second set to pull out the victory in the third set with a match score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Marc Silva easily defeated Carl Bengtsson 6-1, 6-1 at the number one singles spot.

    In other action, Ry Tarpley defeated Augusto Cantone 6-1, 6-2 at the number 3 singles spot. Derrick Nguyen, playing number 4 singles. defeated Ryan Rader in short time, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Brad Erickson completed the last match with an easy 6-3, 6-2 victory over Tyler Refling.

    Northwestern is 1-0 while Northern Illinois University is 1-1.
