    COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the first day of main draw play at the 2008 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regionals hosted by Ohio State University, Northwestern's Alex Sanborn (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid) and Marc Dwyer (Peachtree City, Ga./Univ. of Nebraska - Independent Study H.S.) won two matches to advance to the doubles round of 16.

    In their first match of the day, the 'Cats defeated Matt Clegg and Matt Keesey of Wisconsin - Green Bay, 8-5. Then they knocked off Ball State's Eduardo Pavia/Andres Monroy, 8-6. They will face host Buckeyes Mike O'Connell/Balazs Novak for a spot in the quarterfinals.

    Main draw singles play is set to begin Saturday morning. Dwyer will face Michigan's Chris Madden in the first round while Sanborn is set for Christian Bierich of Iowa. Singles action begins at 7 a.m. CT and doubles is scheduled for 3:30 p.m CT.
