    Shropshire Advances at ITA All-American Championships

    TULSA, Okla. -- Freshman Sam Shropshire marched through the second and third rounds of the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday to earn a fourth round appearance on Monday. He will face Jordan Daigle from the University of Virginia, and a victory would earn him a spot in the main draw.

    In the second round, Shropshire defeated Fresno State's Adrian Du Toit 6-2, 6-2. He turned around to beat Florian Lakat of Mississippi State 6-3, 6-3 in the third round.

    Sophomore Mihir Kumar defeated Denver's Alex Clinkenbeard 6-4, 6-3 in the second round, but fell in a three-set contest to Marc Herrmann of Nebraska 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

    Following a close match yesterday, freshman Konrad Zieba was also victorious in the second round when he defeated Auburn's Joseph Van-Dooren 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Zieba then faced 26th seeded Rafael Rondino from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, but fell 6-4, 6-1.

    Junior Alex Pasareanu was tough in the second round against Jacoby Lewis of Texas, but ultimately fell 6-4, 7-6 (5).
