A 9-8 win at No. 3 by Andrew McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) and David Seyferth (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) secured the 1-0 lead for the Wildcats going into singles play.
