EVANSTON, Ill. -- Both of Northwestern's head swimming coaches will represent the United States at the 2007 World University Games Aug. 5-18 in Bangkok, Thailand, while one additional Wildcat swimmer also will appear at the Games.

Men's head coach Bob Groseth and women's head coach Jimmy Tierney will serve as assistants for their respective United States squads. This is Groseth's first year with the team, while Tierney previously served as an assistant in 1999.

Senior Mike Alexandrov (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) has been selected to swim for Bulgaria, making his second appearance at the Games after also swimming in 2005.

Alexandrov will join Wildcats Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) at the games after the pair previously were announced as members of the U.S. delegation.

Grevers earned four medals at the 2005 games, while Hupman picked up a pair of golds as a member of two freestyle relays.
