    Northwestern Men, Women Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Awards

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- On the heels of 12 individual men's and women's swimming and diving Wildcats earned College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America awards, both Northwestern programs also have been named 2012 Scholar All-America teams, the organization announced Tuesday, July 10.

    The Northwestern women compiled a 3.59 cumulative GPA during the reporting period for the award, ranking third in the nation among NCAA Division I programs. NU finished just behind a first-place tie between Clemson and Alabama at 3.62 for the top GPA in the country. Last year, the `Cats were 13th in the country with a 3.48 GPA.

    The NU men are tied with Duke for the 18th-best GPA in NCAA Division I swimming and diving with a 3.25 cumulative mark, up from its 3.0 GPA achieved during the 2010-11 season.
