CASTAIC LAKE, Calif. -- Northwestern swimmer Jordan Wilimovsky (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) will be competing once again overseas this summer.

Swimming in the Open Water National Championships, Wilimovsky took second place in the 10K and 5K long distance swims.

He finished No. 2 at the Open Water National Championships in the 10K on Friday. The sophomore from Malibu, Calif. will be named to USA Swimming's Pan-Pac Team and will compete in Melbourne, Australia later this summer.

On Sunday, he also took second in the 5K, narrowly missing out on a national championship after a photo finish for the first two spots.

Wilimovsky is a two-time NCAA qualifier for the Wildcats. After reaching the national championships in each of his first two seasons, Wilimovsky was named an All-American in 2014 after finishing No. 4 in the mile at the national championships and No. 2 at Big Tens. He holds the 'Cats mile record, which he has broken three times in his career and remains the only swimmer in school history to post a sub-15 minute mile time.
