EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior Chase Stephens (Madison, Wis./Edgewood) and freshman Jordan Wilimovsky (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) will represent Northwestern at the 2013 NCAA Championships March 28-30 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Stephens punched his ticket on the strength of a career-best 43.14 in the 100 free during preliminary action at the Big Ten Championships, a time that qualified him for the `A' final in that event at the conference meet and ultimately for the NCAA field as the No. 29 overall seed. He also will compete in the 50 free and the 200 free after earning career-best NCAA `B' times in those events at the Big Ten Championships, as well.

Stephens is making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Wilimovsky took down a nine-year-old school record by more than five seconds in the 1,650 free to score points at the Big Ten Championships, and it was his 15:03.07 in that event that earned him a spot in his first NCAA Championships as the No. 29 seed. Wilimovsky also will compete in the 500 free in Indianapolis.

Both swimmers' first events of the meet will be Thursday when Stephens swims the 50 free and Wilimovsky goes out in the 500. After Friday off from competition, Stephens has the 100 on Saturday while Wilimovsky has the mile.

Northwestern has been represented at the NCAA Championships in 12 of the last 13 seasons, missing out on the field last year after qualifying at least one swimming in 11-straight seasons from 2001-11. NU finished in the top 30 in the nation in its last NCAA Championships appearance in 2011.
