    `Cats Head to Milwaukee to Face Panthers Friday

    EVANSTON, Ill. – The Northwestern men’s swimming and diving team heads to Milwaukee Friday in the Wildcats (6-3-1, 2-3) final dual of the season before the Big Ten Championships.

    NU travels to UW-Milwaukee to take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. CT.

    Last Time Out
    NU is coming off a thrilling Big Ten win over Iowa on Jan. 25, which was clinched on the day’s final event by winning the 400 yard free relay. 

    NU trailed 147-136 entering the race, but the `Cats team of Matt Wilcox, Uula Auren, Jack Morris and Chase Stephens took first with a time of 3:01.57. 


     

     

    In second place, the `Cats Mark Ferguson, Dominik Cubelic, Charlie Cole and Andrew Jovanovic edged out Iowa by just 0.04 with a time of 3:01.96, earning NU the victory on Senior Day Saturday at the Norris Aquatics Center.

    Wildcats sophomore Jordan Wilimovsky took first place in the 1,000 yard free, giving NU nine points which closed the gap in Iowa's lead to 19-17. Wilimovsky's time of 9:20.78 won the race by more than 15 seconds.

    Cramer Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
    Northwestern freshman diver Andrew Cramer has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

    Cramer (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) placed first in the one-meter (315.14) and three-meter (351.45) diving competitions in Northwestern’s Big Ten win over Iowa Saturday. Both performances met NCAA Zone Diving standards.

    The honor marks Cramer’s second Big Ten weekly honor of his college career for the freshman. He was named Big Ten Diver of the Week on Nov. 19.  He is Northwestern’s first diver to win Diver of the Week in school history. 

    Big Ten Championships Up Next
    Following the meet against the Panthers, the ‘Cats will compete in the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., from Feb. 26-March 1.
