    Men's Swimming and Diving in Ninth Place at Big Ten Championship

    EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern men's swimming and diving team is in ninth place after day one of the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. NU has 55 points, just 12 behind eighth-place Iowa. Steve Harms was NU's top finisher as he took 10th in the 500 free with a time of 4:26.58. Steve Steketee was 15th in a time of 4:29.81. Bill Johnson placed 15th in the 200 IM in 1:50.81 and the 400 Medley Relay was sixth, touching in a time of 3:17.42. Complete meet results follow. The 'Cats are back in action tomorrow for day two. Preliminaries will be at 11 a.m. followed by the finals at 7 p.m.
