    Strong Swims Secure Scoring Lanes Saturday at B1G Championships

    Two Wildcats move into NU's all-time top five in their specific events

    2012-13: A talented sprint and middle-distance freestyler for Northwestern, competed in the first three dual meets of the 2012-13 season before missing the remainder of the fall with an injury ... Academic All-Big Ten ... CSCAA Scholar All-America honorable mention ... Despite missing so much time, came back to swim three career-best times at the Big Ten Championships and rank second for NU in the 50 free and 100 free, and third in the 200 free on NU's top times list for the year... Also swam with the Wildcats' best 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley relays at the Big Ten Championships, anchoring a 200 medley squad that turned in an NCAA `B' consideration time of 1:26.57 that was .19 of a second from an `A' cut and ranks as the fourth-fastest 200 medley relay in program history ... Qualified for the scoring consolation final of the 50 free at the Big Ten meet with a career-best `B' cut of 20.06 in the prelims before placing 16th overall with a 20.24 in the finals ... Had a career-best 44.49 in the prelims of the 100 free at the conference meet to finish 25th after the morning, then following a scratch that gave him a bonus final lane, moved all the way up to a 19th-place finish with an evening 44.52 ... Went low for an NCAA `B' time and career-best 1:37.74 in the 200 free prelims before placing 24th overall after the bonus final ... Won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races in NU's season-opening dual meet against Eastern Michigan (10/19) ... Also won the 100 free in a double dual versus UIC and Western Kentucky (11/2) and took second in the event versus Purdue (11/3) ...
